Issue with torrent harvester and utorrent.

I've just started using torrent harvester along with utorrent, and have been running it on my xp machine without a problem. However, when I try to run them on my laptop which is running Vista and try to download a file using torrent harvester, Utorrent wants to tell me it can't find the file specified.

However it works perfectly if I were to download a torrent from any web site of my choosing. Has anyone else had this issue, and if so, how can I go about resolving it?

Hi,

Not sure if you've come to any resolution on this. I was going to try to replicate the issue; but for me, the combination of Torrent Harvester and Torrent work fine under Vista. What versions of each program are you using? I'm using Torrent Harvester0.7b, and Utorrent 1.7.6. Also of note is that I upgraded my Vista to the release candidate of Service Pack1, so who knows what sorts of incompatibility issues may have been addressed there.

Vista maps your documents and settings folder differently than XP, so if you're using an older version of either program, maybe one of them is either putting a file in the wrong place, or looking for a file in the wrong place.

Sorry this post wasn't more helpful, but if you have any further info, or more things to try, I would be happy to assist in further troubleshooting.

Best of luck,

I'm using the same version of torrent harvester as you, and utorrent 0.75 I think. I didn't know there was a version later than that.
The last time I checked to see if the one I had would even be compatible with vista, it mentioned the one I'm currently using, but I may have the number incorrect.

Hmm, Interesting.

What's the exact text of the error message you get, and when does it happen exactly? Is it right after you highlight, and then select download on a torent in torrent harvester, or does the message appear after Utorrent runs?

It does this after utorrents attempts to run and download the file, and it tells me something about cannot download whatever the file is called, cannot find the file specified. At least I think that was how it was worded, I haven't tried to do anything with it in a while.
